Professional children are innately inclined to achieve. Yet time constraints and inflexible curriculum can curb this natural tendency. At San Fernando Valley Professional School, we offer a unique mixture of flexibility, encouragement and guidance that allows each student to reach their fullest potential.
The school program follows the standard curriculum of the
California State Board of Education. Students can also choose from several electives to enhance the standard curriculum.

Class structure at San Fernando Valley Professional School is designed to provide an atmosphere that stimulates learning on all levels. This comfortable, low-stress environment encourages student participation and our low 8:1 student/teacher ratio allows for individualized instruction. This benefits both the professional student and the student who has difficulty focusing in a large, structured classroom environment. At San Fernando Valley Professional School, meeting the individual student's needs is OUR focus.
The school manages to meet the needs of students that have demanding schedules during the day. Many of the students have active careers or interests in acting, performing arts, singing or skating. They have various auditions, appointments and competitions to attend on a regular basis. The goal of SFVPS is to work around their schedules to make sure that they get an education that fulfills the state's requirements. Students can also attain their high school diplomas at SFVPS. The school supports both their academic performance and professional success through an annual award ceremony.
Strong fundamental academics are supplemented with traditional values and the acceptance of creativity and self-expression. Our students enjoy learning critical thinking and reasoning, language, organization and study skills. While our faculty is ever-mindful of the need to challenge the student to learn, each student is permitted to progress at their own pace in a non-competitive environment.
Our teaching is goal-oriented with standards-based lessons. Each student is provided with the caring encouragement necessary to succeed. A complete and comprehensive curriculum for college-prep allows the student to receive a firm grounding in the basics as well as the room to expand on specific areas of knowledge that pique the individual student's interest. Nurturing individual interest adds fun and excitement to the student's day. Learning should be an exciting, hands-on experience. At San Fernando Valley Professional School, it is.
